Bert Montgomery writes musings and stories and other such things—often humorous, sometimes provocative, occasionally tragic, yet always honest and insightful. He explores faith and spirituality in all things, with a particular fondness for good rock ‘n’ roll, classic horror, and the surreal. Bert invites readers to share in the awesome wonder of encountering Holy Mystery unexpected places.

His reflections have appeared online with Huffington Post, Good Faith Media, Baptist News Global, Red Letter Christians, as well as in local newspapers and the now-defunct legendary Wittenberg Door magazine. He is the author of five books.

In addition to writing, Bert has served as a hospice chaplain, a juvenile probation officer, a university instructor, and, for almost twenty years, a pastor.

Born in and raised around New Orleans, Bert has also lived in Memphis, and he dearly loves the state—and the river!—that connects those great cities. He now resides in Kentucky along the Ohio River (which, he is quick to note, flows into the Mississippi).
